FÉLIX REVELLO DE TORO · A CENTURY
The Revello de Toro Museum is commemorating the centenary of the birth of Félix Revello de Toro with an extensive programme of events to be held throughout 2026, bringing together cultural, educational and outreach initiatives dedicated to the celebrated Málaga-born painter.
Highlights of the programme include the release of a commemorative ONCE coupon and a special stamp issued by Correos — an extraordinary distinction for a living artist. In addition, on 10 June a monument honouring the painter will be unveiled in the gardens of the Hospital Noble, his birthplace. The sculpture has been created by artist Pilar Españaque, with a pedestal designed by technical architect Pablo Pastor.
Also on 10 June, the Museum will also host an Open Day featuring free admission, guided tours and the distribution of a portfolio containing reproductions of some of the artist’s most emblematic drawings.
The programme further includes a series of commemorative concerts during the month of June, as well as a lecture series taking place between September and October, with the participation of distinguished art historians, specialists and journalists who will explore different aspects of Revello de Toro’s artistic legacy.
In autumn, the Museum will present the temporary exhibition “Revello and the Aristocracy”, devoted to one of the defining themes of his artistic career. In addition, the puppet theatre company “Peneque el Valiente” will stage performances entitled “Félix Turns 100” in municipal libraries.
To mark the centenary, the interactive video game “The Light of Félix” has also been developed and will be available free of charge via QR code thanks to the collaboration of Art Museum and Novalingo.
The commemorative programme will also feature special broadcasts on Canal Sur Radio and Canal Málaga, together with the publication of the book “One Hundred Years of a Painter: Studies and Articles”.
The Revello de Toro Museum would like to express its gratitude for the collaboration and support of the institutions and sponsors that have made this programme possible, including Fundación Sando, Fundación El Pimpi, Fundación La Caixa, Fundación Unicaja and ONCE.
